RxYouSave vs. Competition Savings Programs

Click Here To Go To Pharmacy Comparison

Competition is a healthy thing, if done right.  If you reside in the USA, you will know how our healthcare system works.  In particular, you are familiar with many chain pharmacies--but in this section I will talk about the most common ones that are across the US.  Those National Chain Pharmacies are CVS, Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens & Walmart.  CVS, Rite Aid, Target & Walgreens each have their own prescription savings program.  However every one of their prescription savings programs can be unfair.  In this section we will discuss each of their prescription savings programs, while highlighting the most important categories that RxYouSave has that these other programs don't have.

Things to ask yourself BEFORE joining any prescription discount programs include, but are not limited to the following:

Membership Costs--The Competition Has Them!

Does it cost anything to join this prescription savings program?  If it costs ANYTHING to join a pharmacy prescription savings program, then that is a huge red flag!  We at RxYouSave believe you should NEVER have to PAY MONEY to become a member of a "Savings Program" just so you can save money in the end.  Prescriptions are high enough as it is, without you having to be price gouged even more.  Saving money should be FREE, and with RxYouSave, it will ALWAYS be FREE!  Most of the Pharmacies that have a savings program charge you money to be in their programs.

HIPAA & Privacy Compliant

You MUST have BOTH, not one or another.  When it comes to your personal privacy as well as your medical information privacy, we here at RxYouSave believe that you shouldn't have to sacrifice one for the other.  You deserve to have BOTH HIPAA and Regular Privacy on your side.  You may have your medical privacy, but if your pharmacy savings program is selling your phone number and email address and other information to telemarketers and mailing list companies for junk mail--then it completely defeats the purpose of privacy.  With our competition, your privacy may NOT be guaranteed, and you will see the evidence presented later on in this page.

Medicare Doughnut Hole Coverage

Did you join your pharmacy's prescription savings program with the hopes of them providing prescription coverage for you while you're in the medicare coverage gap (AKA Medicare Doughnut Hole)?  Think Again!  Our competition may not provide this much needed service!  We will show you (by providing a live link that opens in a new window) where these prescription savings programs for these national chain pharmacies (on their company websites) may have a clause where people who receive Medicare are NOT eligible for savings.  You can ask the pharmacist to run the RxYouSave Prescription Discount Card to provide discounts to you while you are in the Doughnut Hole.  The RxYouSave Prescription Discount Card cannot be used in conjunction WITH Insurance--but it CAN be used to provide discounts on your prescriptions while you are in the Medicare Doughnut Hole or while you are on insurance and are in the process of meeting your deductible.  You can compare the RxYouSave card with your insurance copay and see which one is cheaper.  Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Prescription Savings Amount

Any pharmacy's prescription savings program that is worth anything will list the amount that you can save on their website.  Be very wary of those pharmacies who do not list the savings amount online--as you risk paying way too much for your prescriptions.  Why pay more for your prescriptions than you have to?  Some of our competition lists the percentage you can save with their programs, but you can bet that they may not save as much as our card will (you will see for yourself on this page)

Check Medication Prices Online

Be Wary of Any Pharmacy prescription savings program that will not let you check medication prices online.  Some pharmacies will upload a PDF or Word or Excel version of their formulary.  We are not talking about that as it is not the same.  A medication price checker will let you type in the name of your prescription, and let you select the dosage as well as enter the amount that you take every month. (e.g. 60 pills per month, one pill twice per day and 180 pills every 90 days, one pill twice per day).  It will also let you check the actual estimated price of the prescription as well as the percentage saved.  You should run away from any pharmacy savings program that does not have this option, as they are trying to make you pay more for your prescriptions than you have to.

NEVER let a pharmacy staff member tell you that their card or savings program is better than the RxYouSave Prescription Discount Card.  They are paid to push their own pharmacy's prescription discount savings program or card and they don't care whether or not you save the most money.  Here at RxYouSave, we want you to save the most money, even if it's NOT with us.  This is why we provide the medication price checker of ours as well as our competition.  This is so you can get the best price around and save the most money--because isn't that the point?

Multi Pharmacy Availability

Another question to ask yourself is how available is their prescription savings program?  With our competition listed here, their savings programs are only available throughout their stores--NOT with their competition.  For example, you cannot go to CVS and ask for Walgreen's prescription savings program pricing.  With RxYouSave, our card is accepted at over 60,000 different chain and independent pharmacies nationwide and we are growing EVERYDAY.

That being said, The following is a table that lists the pharmacy savings programs for the most popular pharmacies in the US.  Please keep in mind that as of this writing, Kroger, Publix and Walmart do NOT have Prescription Savings Programs.  (Think of how much more out of pocket you may be paying if you have your prescriptions filled with them?!)
